Pumpkin Patch

10th Annual Pumpkin Patch is a fun-filled community event opened from October 1st and closes on October 31st.  FREE ADMISSION EVERYDAY. Hours of operation are weekdays, 9am – 12pm & 3pm – 7pm, Wednesdays 3-7pm and weekends – Saturday 9am – 7pm & Sunday 12pm – 7pm. All of the proceeds go to charities & missions in the community. Hayrides are also free of charge and the kids always have a great time.

Concessions are offered by their Youth Group to raise money for their activities throughout the year. Face Painting & Lunch is offered on the weekends by some of the Sunday school classes to benefit church projects and other charity donations.

UL SYMPHONY 20th ANNUAL HALLOWEEN CONCERT

Adults and little ones alike will get into the Halloween spirit when the UL Lafayette Symphony (Michael Blaney, conductor) presents its 20th Annual Halloween Concert: Tuesday, October 27, at 7:30 p.m. in Angelle Hall Auditorium. Orchestra members will be wearing costumes and the audience is encouraged to show up in their favorite Halloween costumes.  Musical highlights of this year’s concert include: Holst-Mars, Mussorgsky-Night on Bald Mountain, Williams-Music from the original Star Wars (Episode 4), Music from the film Psycho, excerpts from Tchaikovsky- Swan Lake, A new orchestral arrangement written by UL student Dylan Hebert that contains themes from: Isle of the Dead, Toccata and Fugue in D minor, and Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata.   Guest appearances by the Star Wars Rebel and 501st Legions, UL Women’s Choir, UL Dance Department and UL School of Music Faculty.  It’s a great way to celebrate the holiday in a fun and entertaining way.   Admission is $8 for adults, FREE for 17 and younger, FREE for all UL students, faculty, and staff with I.D. Abbeville High School Haunted Hallways
On Halloween from 5 pm to 10 pm. $5 donation fee for children for admission. Parents are free for the gym activities.

There will be games, contest and many tricks and treats for all. Also the main event will be a Haunted House within the school put on by the seniors of 2016 graduation class.

The Haunted House will consist of very scary rooms and hallways filled with goblins, zombies, and ghouls.

HOWL- O- WEEN
Giles Subaru in Lafayette will be hosting a Howl-o-ween party on October 31st from 1 pm to 4 pm benefiting the Animal Rescue Foundation of Louisiana that is open to the public.

Attendees are encouraged to bring their pets dressed up in Halloween costumes.  Money will be raised with a $5 photo booth and donations that entitle participants to raffle prices and giveaways.

The pet adoption team from the Animal Rescue Foundation will also be on hand.

Additionally, the ARLF pet adoption team will be present to match pets with people.  All dogs are health checked by a veterinarian, current on vaccinations, spayed, neutered and heartworm free.

Trick-or-Treating at Chicot State Park
Visitors are invited to Chicot State Park in Ville Platte on Saturday, October 31, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., for trick-or-treating in the campgrounds and at the Arboretum Nature Center.

Campers are invited to celebrate Halloween by decorating their campsites and/or handing out treats to children in Chicot State Park on October 31. Everyone is welcome to walk through the north or south campgrounds for trick-or-treating.

Day-use admission to the park is $2 per person.  All programs are free with paid admission to the park.  Groups of 10 or more can make reservations in advance for special programs.

KIDS EXCHANGE CANDY FOR TOYS, GIVE BACK TO U.S. TROOPS
Kool Smiles, a provider for dental care in Lafayette, is coordinating for the fourth year ‘Operation Troop Treats’, a program that helps give kid’s teeth a post-Halloween break while giving U.S. troops serving overseas a sweet reminder of their home.

Operation Troop Treats encourages children and their families to visit one of the local Kool Smiles dental offices between Friday, Oct. 30 and Wednesday, Nov. 4 to exchange their Halloween candy for toys. The donated candy will then be sent in care packages to U.S. troops serving overseas via Operation Gratitude.    In addition to the candy cargo, Kool Smiles is donating the funds to cover the assembly and shipment of 200 Operation Gratitude care packages to overseas troops, which will include dental kits from Kool Smiles.    The Lafayette area Kool Smiles offices are participating from Friday, October 30 to Wednesday, November 4 during open office hours. Every child that comes in can receive one toy for every 25 pieces of unopened candy in its original intended packaging. The program is open to everyone, regardless of whether they are Kool Smiles patients. There is a limit of three toys per child and toys are distributed on a first come, first served basis.
