The South Louisiana Black Pot Festival & Cookoff
Parking will be allowed along Fisher Rd in addition to the lots below.
Lot A is off Surrey St. behind the Army
Lot B is off Fisher Road behind the Jean Lafite Acadian Cultural Center
Lot C is at the Lafayette Airport – entrance is on Surrey St.
Lot D is at the American Legion – North on Surrey St across the Bayou Vermilion it’s your first right over the bridge.There will be a shuttle van running to and from this lot until 2am each night.
Additional overflow parking will be at Heymann Park.
New this year: Reusable bowls available
Bowls will be for sale this year to cut down on waste. They’re made of bamboo resin with the festival logo and are good for 500 dishwasher cycles. Available for $10 at Festival Merchandise and the Blackpot Camp Tent in the Cook-off zone. Proceeds will benefit the Blackpot Camp Scholarship Fund. Thanks for helping us make Blackpot greener!
People’s Choice Awards:
Festival attendees may purchase a ticket to vote with for $1 (or free with re-usable bowl purchase). Proceeds will benefit the Blackpot Camp Scholarship Fund. One ticket per person please. Look for the Blackpot Camp jam tent in the Cook-off zone. Cook-off samples are ready when they’re ready – usually between 4pm and 7pm on Saturday.
Gravy (“Sauce”, Grease gravy… “that good stuff they make on thursdays at the plate lunch place”)!
Gumbo ( gumbo is gumbo and not a gravy you should know what this is)!
Dessert (pie, cobbler, cinnamon rolls, sweet sweet goodness etc.)(cooked in cast iron)!
