Invega (paliperidone) is an anti-psychotic medicine. It alters chemicals in the brain. It treats schizophrenia in adults and adolescents from 12 to 18.

The drug links with side effects like severe allergic reactions, movement disorders, sensitivity to temperatures, tingling or numbness on one side of the body, heart attack, weight gain, and diabetes. Children are particularly susceptible to these side effects.

Gynecomastia and Invega in Boys

Gynecomasia is a condition where young boys develop breasts. Invega causes gynecomastia and can have serious physiological effects on young boys and men. This drug is not approved for use in children 12 and under. If your child took this drug and is experiencing male breast growth, it is especially important that you speak with an attorney.

Gynecomastia symptoms of  include:

  • Swollen breast tissue
  • Nipple discharge in one or both breasts
  • Pain or discomfort in the breast area
