Lunesta (eszopiclone) is a prescription sleeping pill. Deaths are linked to Lunesta®. A new study shows that risk of death may be higher than what was previously thought.
The Scripps Clinic –Viterbi Family Sleep Center in La Jolla, California studied the medical records of thousands sleeping pill users. In a 2.5 year period there were 638 deaths of individuals who took sleeping pills, compared to 295 deaths who didn’t take sleeping pills. This indicates a much higher risk of death among sleeping pill users.
