Former Teacher Pleads Guilty to Felony Sex Offense of Juvenile Student
Paula Latiolais Pleads No Contest to Sex Offense Felony Carnal Knowledge of a Juvenile
NEW IBERIA, LA – According to documents maintained in the public record Paula Latiolais pleads no contest to the sex offense, Felony Carnal Knowledge of a Juvenile. The former Catholic High School and Westgate teacher was arrested last year in connection with the alleged offense. The public records indicate that the plea deal was accepted on July 1, 2015.
A sex offense civil suit was filed by this office on May 23, 2014 against Paula Latiolais, Catholic High School of New Iberia and the Society of the Roman Catholic Church of the Diocese of Lafayette. The civil matter is presently pending in the 16th Judicial District Court, Parish of Iberia.
